How to Install IPA Files on iPhone & iPad

An IPA is an iOS app archive. Sideloading uses a supported signing or container workflow to run an IPA outside the usual App Store installation process. Your setup depends on your device, iOS or iPadOS version, and chosen tool. Downloading a file does not install it.

01

Check your device

Find your iOS or iPadOS version in Settings → General → About. Compare it with the app release and your chosen tool. Unknown compatibility is not confirmation.

02

Set up your installation tool

Follow SideStore’s official setup guide, or LiveContainer’s documentation if your app and device suit a container workflow. Do not enter your Apple credentials into this library website.

03

Download the individual IPA

Sign in, open the app detail and request a temporary link. Keep the original filename and enough free storage.

04

Import and follow the upstream guide

Use your tool’s import function and follow signing, refresh and compatibility instructions. A downloaded file may still fail installation; review the exact tool error.
